It's been a while, sorry for the blog delay. Life is very busy for me in the Springtime, at home and at work.
But our garden looks GOOD..the perennials are up and happy, and colorful, and really enjoyable...and I really love this time of year. It's green, and it smells good, and the colors wake up your senses! Yes, I love it. And Mothers Day was great! My husband Frank made surf and turf for my Mom and all of us, My brother and his wife and daughter...it was delicious. I a one lucky girl...my darling hub is making dinner right now!
The Susan G Komen Race for the Cure last Sunday..Mothers Day morning.. was tremendous! I am so amazed at the turnout on the Ben Franklin Parkway...so many people running and walking to raise funds for and fight breast cancer. And the Survivors..as they walk down the Art Museum steps just before the Race, it's a sight to see. And I was the one who announced their triumphant walk down! It was , as always, so emotional to see all the woman who are fighting and surviving with their family and friends.... and the signs! "10 year survivor" or 15 year survivor" . And then the groups of people who walk in memory of someone...their signs have the name of their dearly departed Mother, or Wife, or Sister, or Friend. If you are a woman reading this, and you are over 40, especially over 50..get a mammogram! Early detection DOES save lives. My Mom and I have our appointment in a couple of weeks..we always go together, and I suggest that if you can do it with a Mom, a Sister or a Friend. To the 40 thousand who walked or ran in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure..I salute you. And hope that together we find a cure for this disease. By the way, Susan G. Komen died at age 36 from the disease, and when she was sick, she asked her sister to make sure that her death was not in vain..and to work for a cure and end breast cancer forever. That was in the 1970's And now her sister, Nancy, continues to fulfill her promise to her sister. Nancy says she wishes she knew then what she knows now. And we have all raised millions and are making many strides in the breast cancer fight. Check out the pictures of the Race under pictures here on our web site. And speaking of pictures, check out this pic of me and my balloon friend. This past Saturday, I did an appearance at Valley Square Shopping Center in Warrington (check it out, a great place with great stores) A woamn walked up to me, and handed me this ballonn rendition of me, and I was so flattered. I said..."Are you a clown?" And it turns out she's Jellybean the Clown, and a big listener to the Breakfast Club. I am constantly amazed at listeners, and the nice stuff they do...thanks Jellybean. See ya all next time.
