Bill Zimpfer, News and Sports anchor at WOGL Radio, Philadelphia, is a familiar voice not only in the Philadelphia area…but literally around the world. During his 30 year broadcasting career, Bill has worked in radio in the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia, at WOGL and WIP, and has served as the Play-by-Play broadcaster for Lehigh University football and basketball, Penn State football and basketball, the Miami Dolphins, and most recently, Florida International University Football. His voice has been featured in productions from NFL films, and HBO’s “Inside the NFL”. In addition, Bill has done numerous voice-overs, including a national commercial for Brut Cologne, and another for Lego Racers, which aired globally. Bill Zimpfer resides with his wife and 3 children in East Greenville, Pennsylvania.

Well....the start of school...and a hint of cooler weather can only mean one thing.....football season! The Eagles will certainly be interesting to watch this year, although I think their window of opportunity for the super Bowl has closed. On the college scene, I'll be looking for my Alma Mater, Penn State, to put together a nice season.....I don't think they're ready to challenge for the Big Ten title however. Football season also means I'm back to coaching. Our Upper Perkiomen Middle School 8th grade team has been working out for a couple of weeks, and we have some pretty good athletes. Whether that translates into wins on the field remains to be seen. Our goals are to teach the kids as much as possible, get them to be students of the game, and continue on with their football career. It's also nice to win some games. As I tell the kids: "yes, we want to have fun, but it's more fun to win than to lose", so there will be some hard work involved. This will also be the first time in many years I don't have a son playing football. I'll still get to some games, but it wont be the same. I WON'T miss sitting there in all kinds of weather to watch. If there's a hint of rain, now I'll stay home in my recliner. Ahh...the benefits of getting older!!
