Happy St. Patricks day!!!
In honor of this special day I thought I would write one of my father's favorite Irish Blessings. When he passed away my mother had this inscribed on the inside of the lid of his casket.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Love and miss you Dad

Top of the morning (or afternoon, or evening) to you. Let the countdown begin. St. Patrick's Day is almost here! A sure sign that spring is almost here and that March Madness is ready to begin. (One of these day's I'm going to make it to Ireland for St. Patty's Day.) In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the Philadelphia parade this Sunday. Can you believe the first documented St. Patrick's Day Celebration Parade in Philadelphia was held in 1771, marking over 235 continuous years of celebrations? This parade is the 2nd oldest Parade in the Country, topped only by the New York City Parade. Look for all of us from the Breakfast Club on the brodcast on CBS 3.
I'll be riding with Valerie (we'll be the ones fighting over the front seat) in one car and Billy Z and Ross will be in the other. (Thank God they turned down Bill's request to bring his accordion) Make sure if you are coming to the parade that you bring your camera, you might ACTUALLY get a picture of Ross wearing something other than the color black. It's going to be a great time and I think the weather should be ok.
Well I have to go now, Notre Dame is playing St. John's tonight in basketball and I have to get myself prepared. Until next time...
May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future

Ahhhhhhhhh CHEWWWWWWWWWWW.......
Excuse me, I've been fight a cold since last week. Seems like lot's of people are getting sick lately. ( Must be that global warming thing) Anyway, not much going on these days, just waiting for spring to get here. Ever since I was a kid I remember getting excited when I heard that it was time for pitchers and catchers to report to spring training in Florida. I knew warm weather and baseball were coming soon.
It's funny because I lived in Florida for almost 7 years doing radio and the only time I still really miss living there is Feb. and March. I used to love going to spring training games. The weather was always just right and the whole atmosphere was so much more relaxed than once the regular season starts. It didn't matter who was playing, it was just nice to sit outside in Feb. having a beer, eating some peanuts and watching some baseball while lots of my family and friends were up north freezing their buns off. I remember one time when I worked as the P.A. announcer for the NY Mets during spring training (not a fan, just an employee) I had my parents down to visit me and surprised them by having their names put up on the scoreboard welcoming them. It was pretty cool. I also always really enjoyed going to Vero Beach to watch the Dodgers play. They have one of the nicest parks in baseball. I didn't get over to the west coast much to see the Pirates or Phillies. I'd like to try and sneak down this year for a game or two anywhere in Florida and maybe get in a round of golf. (Wishful thinking)
Ok, gotta go brush the snow off my car and get my oil changed. UGGGGGG!!!

Well, I'm off to Cancun for the weekend. My boss asked me to go and make sure the sun is still warm, the drinks are still cold and the women are still...Oh wait, she didn't ask me that part. (doing that on my own) Anyway, I'm lost now that football season is completely done. Whatta Super Bowl!! I was rooting hard for the Giants while watching the game in an Irish bar in Times Square. When it ended it was wild as people filled the streets to celebrate. I didn't see anyone getting too crazy. ( the cops on horseback might have had something to do with that)
Well now it's time to start rooting for Notre Dame's mens basketball team. I went to see them the other night in Newark against Seton Hall and my Irish gave'em a good beating. Ok, gotta go pack. I'll be sure and give you a full report on Cancun when I get back.
And one more thing...If you don't hear me on the radio on Tuesday, please send bail money.
Adios!

Hey there!
It's finally snowing again...IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! If it's going to be cold, it might as well snow. Speaking of which...If by chance you are heading downashore this weekend, you should try and head over to Wildwood for what is sure to be a sight to see. The Polar Bear Plunge Wildwood is taking place on Saturday at 1pm. My buddy Matt Reeves from the Camden Police Department asked me to MC the festivities and it sounds like it's going to be lots of fun and it's all for a very good cause. (Special Olympics, New Jersey) Also Rich Desmond from the Camden County Pipe and Drums and his crew will be there as well. There's going to be a beef & beer on Friday and again on Saturday. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!! NO, I'm not going into that ice cold water, just the MC for the weekend.
The Polar Bear Plunge Wildwood is a partnership to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey under the Law Enforcement Torch Run program. Participants are asked to raise money to take a mid-winter Plunge into the frigid South Jersey waters of the Atlantic Ocean. All proceeds collected by Plungers benefit Special Olympics athletes and help further the Special Olympics New Jersey mission. It's sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police. If you'd like more info, go to www.sonj.org
If you don't have any plans for the weekend, come on down to Wildwood and help support a great cause and have some fun!
